What is Heat Stroke?

Heat stroke, are conditions when your body experiences dramatic increases in body temperature quickly, and you cannot cool the body. This condition usually occur when a person feels intense heat due to exposure to heat from sunburn outside the body’s tolerance limits.

Heat strokes can occur without the initial conditions associated with heat or previous heat, such as fatigue.

What are The Symptoms of Someone Having a Heat Stroke?

Signs and symptoms of heat stroke, including:

  • High fever (40ยบ C) or more
  • Sweating profusely
  • Headache, lightheadedness, and discomfort
  • The skin is red and dry
  • The response rate slows down
  • Sudden pulse surge
  • Changes in mental or behavioral status, such as confusion, rebellion, slurred talk
  • Nauseous vomit
  • Fast breathing
  • Fainting, as the first sign in advanced adults

What should be done to help people affected by heat stroke?

When attacked by heat stroke, try to cool the body temperature, in any way, for example:

  • Carry it into an air-conditioned room
  • Soak it in cold water or mix with cold water
  • Spray with water from the hose
  • Compress ice throughout the body, especially the neck, armpits and groin
  • Body gait
  • Wet the blanket or sheets with cold water and cover the whole body
  • Drink cold, non-caffeine and non-alcoholic water, if body conditions allow

How to Prevent Heat Stroke?

When the weather is high, you should keep it in an air-conditioned room. If you are required to do activities outside the home, always check the weather conditions. You can avoid heat stroke with the tips below:

1. Get to Know The Symptoms of Heat Stroke

Heatstroke has several symptoms such as excessive fatigue, shortness of breath followed by abdominal pain, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, fainting and possibly severe vomiting. If you fail to treat these symptoms, this condition can cause you to faint and serious health problems.

2. Drink Water

If your body experiences a sudden heat reaction, drink water. However, make sure not to drink water that is too cold, because this will trigger a negative reaction from your body. As a preventative measure, you must drink plenty of water throughout the day.

3. Look For a Cold Place

When someone shows signs of a heat-related disorder, the first step to take is to move to a much cooler place and avoid direct sunlight exposure. Remove all unnecessary clothing attributes. 4. Drink Water Before Exercise

5. Avoid Taking Aspirin or Pain Relief Drugs

If you suffer from a heatstroke attack, taking medications such as aspirin will not help reduce high body temperature, but will create complications.

6. Beware of Certain Diseases

People who experience health problems such as heart disease, diabetes and obesity must be extra careful because they are very susceptible to heatstroke, especially entering the summer. People with diabetes can easily become dehydrated if their blood sugar levels are out of control. While in obese people, using simple logic, the greater the person, the more difficult it is to eliminate the excessive heat in the body.

7. Wear thin, light and loose clothes. Use a hat with a wide cover
